Accessibility Ramp for Jackie & Carl

Oklahoma City
April 2026
1 ramp built • Barrier-free home access • Full-time care supported

We built an accessibility ramp for a family in need. After Carl suffered a stroke requiring full-time care, our volunteers stepped in to ensure safe, barrier-free access to his home. This ramp means easier daily care and greater independence.

The Story

Open Vessels had the privilege of building an accessibility ramp for Jackie and Carl. After Carl suffered a stroke, he now requires full-time care that his mother Jackie provides. Getting in and out of the home safely became a daily challenge. Our volunteers came together to build a ramp that ensures barrier-free access, making daily caregiving easier and giving Carl greater independence. This is what community is about — showing up when a family needs it most.
